Pass the Friggin Turkey and Stuffing Will Ya!

It happens every holiday that comes around.  Dietitians/Nutritionists/The Food Gestapo aka Kill-Joys, invade the morning news telling us about all the calories we are going ingest during that celebration.  Like clock-work, every holiday they whip out the tofu substitute, raw celery and water and try to convince us how similar the flavors are…right…
Ok, I get it, […]

The Ultimate Thanksgiving Menu

I thought since Martha Stewart was sharing her Thanksgiving Day Menu, I would do the same.  For me, part of the fun is figuring out what I want to make.  I am cooking the same turkey that I did last year (pictured below).  We loved the flavor and it was nice using the grill for the turkey so that […]

Thanksgiving Day Breakfast

On Thanksgiving Day so much thought, time and energy is focused on that one incredible meal that we often just fling out the Pop-Tarts for breakfast.
I enjoy having a tasty and hearty breakfast on Thanksgiving morning, but I hate spending a ton of time on yet another meal.
Tyler Florence has a great breakfast for you […]

Six Days Until Turkey Day

I can’t believe it…there are only six days separating us from turkey mishaps, canned yams, boxed stuffing and chewy pie crusts…YIKES!!
I honestly thought that I had one more week before I had to start worrying about when, what and how for Thanksgiving.  Has anyone else been as neglectful?  I mean….I actually still have my calendar […]

Food and Wine’s Thanksgiving Guide

If you are like me, I enjoy changing up my Thanksgiving menu each year.  There are some food traditions that are always present on the table, but I may change them up a bit.
I started the search for this year’s Thanksgiving menu and came across Food and Wine’s Thanksgiving Guide from 1999:

Our test kitchen always has […]

Pumpkin Pie Cake

Here is a great Holiday Season dessert recipe that is fast, easy, inexpensive and has loads of yummy flavor.
Every year my mother makes this Pumpkin Pie Cake.  She thinks she got it off of a Libby’s Pie Filling Can a few years ago.  It is very similar to Paula Deens’ Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cakes (which […]

Thanksgiving Breakfast

I started a Thanksgiving Breakfast tradition at our house a few years ago.
Since we usually eat our Thanksgiving Feast around 2:00pm, we don’t have any lunch, so we need a hearty breakfast.  I also wanted something a little special to sit down and eat while I watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
I came across a […]
