Top Chef Season 4: Meet the Cheftestants-Jennifer

Jennifer from Brooklyn, NY now resides in San Francisco and is the Executive Chef at the COCO500 Restaurant.  She received her AOS in Culinary Arts at the Culinary Institute of America.

From Bravo:

Born in Brooklyn, NY and trained in classic French and Mediterranean cuisine, Jennifer believes in cooking for the season and stimulating the palette. She has lived and worked in both Paris and London and always tries to incorporate French, Italian and Spanish influences in her cooking. Jennifer is currently working as an executive chef at the popular San Francisco restaurant, COCO500, but says if she could cook anywhere in the world it would be Cinque Terre, Italy.

As I learn more about the Culinary Arts I begin to understand why it is rare for young chefs to meet stardom quickly.  It takes time to learn the craft and when you start to break it all down, food is much more than just mere sustenance.  It takes years to absorb all the knowledge, then comes the test of creativity…the skill of taking all you learn and making it your own.  So, it is interesting to me that the 3 previous winners were under the age of 30.

I wonder if Jennifer could the be the first “seasoned” contestant…oh, and the first woman…to become the next Top Chef?

Well, as they say…”Watch what happens”.  Top Chef Season 4 begins airing on March 12 on Bravo.  Check your local listings.
