Mario Gives the Dish To Martha

 Today Mario Batali was a guest on Martha Stewart.  They made some Pumpkin Luna Pasta, discussed his upcoming show on PBS and his departure from The Food Network. 

Mario was very diplomatic when Martha started asking him about what happened at The Food Network.  He said that there were no hard feelings and that the Food Network was going in another direction.  The network wanted to appeal to a more of a mass audience, but that he was still an Iron Chef.  In fact, he is the #1 Iron Chef and currently has a 17-0 wining streak.

His new project is set to air on PBS in the Fall of 2008.  It is called “On the Road Again in Spain”.  His partner in crime is Gwyneth Paltrow.  Gwyneth Paltrow!!??  That is what I thought.  I guess she took a break from Apple and Moses and went on the road with Mario Batali to eat her way around Spain.  Mario says she speaks incredible Spanish and Martha asked the question we all have…Gwyneth Paltrow actually eats?  He said yes, but I still have my doubts.  Anyway it will be exciting to see him, she is a mere footnote on what sounds like a great show and he says that he is in talks with the Travel Channel as well.  Mario fans there is no need to weep, we will get our dose of Batali, we may just need to wait a year.
