Food & Wine Across America

Food & Wine magazine is teaming up with the CBS Early Show for a 6 part series “Summer in the City”. Each Friday, starting this morning, July 6, The Early Show will be going to different destinations “Across America” to show what there is to do and, of course, eat.
Today starts with a territory that I am familiar with, Orlando, FL. The other destinations are Raleigh, Charleston, Cleveland, Dallas and Kansas City. It is nice to see some other cities get some of the spotlight.
Today in Orlando, they began their culinary experience with Chef Roy Yamaguchi of Roy Restaurants. His inspiration is Hawaiian Fusion using local ingredients:
Chefs such as Yamaguchi, a James Beard Award winner known for using local ingredients and flavors to create his famed Hawaiian fusion cuisine. It features European sauces and bold Asian spices, with a focus on seafood.
To see the recipes made on the show, such as the Key Lime Mojito or Roy’s Seared Ahi with Gulf Prawns & Passion Fruit Salsa click here.
Food & Wine magazine has prepared a Web-Exclusive Weekend Guide for the best restaurants, markets and hotels in the above destinations. To see the Orlando picks, like Jiko and The Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge or the Lac Viet Bistro in Orlando’s Little Saigon click here.
Also, if you click here, you can nominate favorite food spots in your area and discover suggestions from others around America.
