The Next Food Network Star 3: Episode 4
Tears flowed this week on The Next Food Network Star. The challenges all took place at Fort Dix in New Jersey.
The first challenge was to make an MRE–that is “Meals Ready to Eat” for those of you not in the know– a little more then it really is. This was difficult because they had little resources and only 20 minutes to do it. It is not like MRE’s have caliber ingredients.
Paul redeemed himself and did a great job making it work. Jag came in a close second, but again his presentation was weak.
The next challenge was to make some food for 75 Army Troops. They had to work in teams of two and since Paul won the challenge, he not only got to choose his team mate but was allowed to pair up the other teams and choose their main course from among three…meatloaf, pot pie and lasagna.
Needless to say Paul picked Jag and they won. Even though Amy and Rory’s dish was not the best it was Adrian and Michael that ended up on the chopping block and to no real surprise Michael became a foot note for this season of The Next Food Network Star.
In fairness to Michael, he was one who knew his food and usually always executed well, he just didn’t have the type of personality to host a TV show.
It seems that nerves and stress are really getting to everyone now. Even those that once seemed strong are failing.
Sadly, I think it is going to be yet another man who “reigns supreme”. Rory just does not have the skills and I think that Amy just gets too flustered on camera and when she is put on the spot. A Food Network Star has to not only work well, scripted but have a flair for talking off the cuff. Come on people!! We need to good female representation!!
As it stands now, I think that the final three should be Adrian, Jag and Paul. I will be curious though to see if they put one woman in there, deserved or not.

Amy is the best and should be the next STAR! This is especially true now that her only competition is either Jag or Rory.
