Chicken Pot Pie

Chicken Pot Pie

Chef John Delucie of Ye Waverly Inn was on Martha Stewart today with a great Chicken Pot Pie recipe.

He shared the recipe which was influenced by his restaurant.  Ye Waverly is located in NYC, of course, and makes great comfort food with a twist, like White Truffle Macaroni & Cheese (in Season).

Chicken Pot Pie is great comfort food and this recipe looked incredible.  For the full recipe click here and when you are in NYC check-out Ye Waverly Inn.

He licked his fingers and grabbed the salt! Admit it, Martha - he should have either used a spoon to taste the pie filling or at least washed his hands. If you did not have that towel ready, he was going to pinch that salt with saliva covered fingers.

I loved the chicken pot pie. It looked amazing, and I will certainly make it here at home, but despite the fact that I am in NY restaurants several times a year, I have no desire to patronize his restaurant. I just did a paper on preparing for an Influenza Pandemic outbreak, and wish I would have seen this show prior to turning it in. I would have added - cook your own food if you do not want to be exposed to other people’s germs.

How can one make this chicken pot pie in advance if someone would like to eat it in a few days rather than the day of? How long will it keep in the refrigerator or freezer and what is the best way to wrap it? Also, what is the best way to warm it up after refrigeration or freezing of the pie?
