Brooklyn Brewery

Beer in the great USA is as old as the pilgrims at Plymouth Rock. The recipe has changed little throughout the years. The basics: hopps, grain, water and yeast remain the base of all beers, but the amounts, brewing style, and in some cases add-ins is what makes each brew unique.
Back in the 1900’s German immigrants brought their style of brewing to the Brooklyn area. But after Prohibition, breweries suffered. There was once around 2,000 breweries dotting the USA, but when Prohibition hit that number dwindled down to a few hundred.
The New York area had no breweries since the closing of one in 1976. A couple of beer loving entepreuners quit their day jobs and started Brooklyn Brewery. They stayed with the Bavarian style brews and are considered one of the 40 top breweries in the United States.
They have their core brands: pilsners, lagers, and ales. They also have seasonal products like Pumpkin Ale and Black Chocolate Stout and don’t miss out on their Brewmaster Reserves.
If you are in the New York area take a trip to Brooklyn Brewery and take a tour. They offer tours every Saturday. Your can purchase products for your self and your bar at their on-line store.
Unfortunately, due to legal restrictions, they are unable to sell their product by mail. They have contacts at out-of-state locations where you can purchase their product. Sadly, most are the upper East Coast and a few Mid-west states. Click here to find a distributor near you.
