Tales of the Cocktail This Summer in New Orleans

Celebrating its 5th anniversary, the food and cocktail event, Tales of the Cocktail, announced the dates for this year. 

As always the event will be anchored at the Hotel Monteleone and the various events and demonstrations will take place throughout the French Quarter.  The festival which focuses on the history then and now of the cocktail will be 5 days, July 18-22, 2007.

A twist on the standard wine and food event, five days of totally
unique events at Tales of the Cocktail will please the amateur or expert
with seminars and demonstrations on subjects such as Tequila, Party
Planning, the History of the Cocktail, Rare Cocktail Ingredients, The
Martini, Drinks and Dishes born in New Orleans and Absinthe among others.
Other events include author meet and greets, cocktail samplings, dinner
pairings, walking history tours, a professional series, spirit awards, bar
chef competition and contemporary cocktail parties — all presented by the
country’s hottest mixologists, chefs, authors, bartenders and cocktail
experts.

The presenters include Ted Allen, from Queer Eye for the Straight Eye and Tony Abou-Ganim, mixologist from The Fine Living Network.

Tickets are required and can be purchased beginning March 19th.  The festival in sponsored by The Hotel Monteleone, Food & Wine and Borders.
