Rachael Ray’s “Heat and Eat”
On Friday, Rachael Ray showed her viewers a way of prepping your food in one day for meals all week, “Heat and Eat”. You take one basic recipe, like roasted chicken, and make 5 meals out of it. The recipes suggest they each serve four, so depending on the size and appetite of you family, you may get at least a couple of more meals out of it with some leftovers for dinner or maybe for lunch.
The thing I like about this idea is not only do you just take one day to cook to free yourself up for the week, but it tends to help the bottom-line at the grocery store helping you save a little money.
The menu begins with making 3 roasted chickens and then using them to make the dinners for the week. The week of menus are:
Roasted Chicken with Gravy, Veggies and Potatoes
Sheperd’s Pie
Tomatillo Chicken and Corn Enchiladas
Chicken Primavera
Chicken Salad
To get all the recipes go to the Heat and Eat Game Plan on the Rachael Ray Show site.
