Foodie Obsessed

Too Much Rachael Ray?

by Tracey Thompson on August 11th, 2006

grp_edr_interact_rr.jpgThe saying goes that sometimes you can get too much of a good thing. Is this also true with our beloved Rachael Ray?

Personally, I am a HUGE fan of RR, but with her multiple cooking/dining/entertaining shows, magazine, books, and up coming talk show in the works, I’ve heard some buzz that maybe this is just too much.

Post your 2 cents (or 25 cents) in the comments and let me know what you think on the issue of Rachael Ray:

Over exposed?

Just right?

Not enough of her?

Here in the Philippines, we only get one show of hers (30-minute meals). I’ve been a fan for a long time though so I know that she has those many shows, those many cookbooks and that magazine! And that upcoming talk show! I think it’s just enough for now. She deserves all that attention anyway! And her charisma and charm is very fresh, so I haven’t tired of her yet. But I think this shouldn’t go any further (think an autobiography or stuffed toys) otherwise yeah, she’ll go down that overexposed route.

I agree too. I like her, so even though she’s all over the US networks, I’m good with that.

I can see it now, Toni, a Rachael doll! Pull a string and she says “yum-o.” And I tend to agree with Tammy here too. I like her so, I’m okay with seeing her all over the place.

I don’t think there will every be too much Rachael. People just love complaining about someone when they are successful.

I still don’t mind making a bit of a joke about it. Please see my post on the subject at http://foodnetworkaddict.blogspot.com/2006/08/proof-that-rachael-ray-is-taking-over.html and let me know what you think! Thanks.

Shes hot and likes to cook, how can there be to much of that?

I think RR is what the people want, and FNW knows it. Similar perky types are showing up in DIY & HGTV programming.

People need entertainment with their education. This is why Sarah M. is going, but Alton is booming. In the end, entertainment usually prevails, which is why RR & Emeril rule FNW and generate the most viewership for the network. They’ll monitor her ratings and act accordingly.

So, it may come down to how much RR can take; as long as she’s having fun and not burning out, she should stay on the horse. Viewers burnt out on RR
    have plenty of alternatives.

Like Rachel but she has too much air time.
Lucky job for her traveling and get paid for dining on various cuisines

I love Rachael Ray. She knows her cooking and she has introduced many new and different foods and recipes into my household. For that my family is thankful. I have also learned to eat many different foods that I would never have tried because I did not know how to cook or season them. I credit her show for teaching me about healthy eating and now my diabetes is controlled much better. Instead of criticizing her one should look around and realize that the world, our children especially, is overweight and unhealthy. Try to learn something from her shows and help your own health. Rachael is sincere and passionate about healthy cooking and we should absorb something from her knowledge and efforts.

I think that you can have overkill, I am seeing RR EVOO in the grocery store now, but I think she is still so beloved. Time will tell.

She’s beautiful & vibrant! She should limit her movements & giggling. She should emulate how Oprah carries herself, (very dignified and respected lady).

I love RR and she continues to work her *** off. I do think that she needs to be careful though. Think about models, stars, celebrities that you walk by and see them on something else, or promoting something else…you stop getting excited. I often think of Julia Roberts back in the day. The best thing that happened to her career was having babies. She is a lot more selective about how her time is spent and I think that is a good thing. RR is in unfamiliar territory…time will soon tell.
