Hell’s Kitchen: Episode 3
I have become a reluctant writer. Reluctant because I see nothing interesting, endearing, funny, surprising, or enjoyable about watching Hell’s Kitchen. As my husband states, it is Big Brother with a steak knife. I doubt that Chef Ramsay is giving up the World Cup for this television garbage.
I find it a little difficult to understand why none of these “chefs” are able to get a meal out that tastes good and in a timely manner. I have worked in a restaurant kitchen before, and find this a little difficult to swallow. Some will say that the food is not up to Chef Ramsay’s high standards. Well, so far what food has gone out has been plated horribly, so, I doubt this has anything to do with his standards.
I want the show to be a little more about the food and discover more about the talents of the “chefs” instead of screaming, swearing, sweating and conniving. The winner is going to be the Executive Chef for a restaurant at the Red Rock Casino and Spa in Las Vegas. At this point I wouldn’t want any of them flipping a burger for me at the local McDonald’s. I can only assume that Fox and Ramsay have already chosen a winner and are just going through the motions of putting everyone else through Hell, or when they say the winner will hold the coveted title of Executive Chef, they mean they will hold the title, and not much else.
So, if you are interested, why- I wish you would share with me…Giacomo, the pizza maker yearning to be a Executive Chef for a five star restaurant, has been “86′d”. The next episode of Hell’s Kitchen airs Monday night on Fox.

Tracy,
I mostly agree with you here. I prefer Ramsay’s BBC show. However, it was surprising to see last season’s Hell’s Kitchen winner (Ralph), on a recent Iron Chef. That says a lot for him. It is strange to me how inept some of the HK cooks are. I can’t help but wonder if they are coached to be this way. Maybe the winner is already decided in advance, and the season episodes are just entertainment. Funny when a “reality show” can seem so unreal.

Exactly! You are trying to imagine these people running the kitchen of a local hamburger joint, so you really doubt their competance, but then why are they their…just good tv? Sadly, the bios on the website do not go into any good detail about their actual food experience and education…a little strange. You can’t help but wonder.

I guess that we shouldn’t be surprise by the focus of the show — seeing how it’s on Fox and not Food Network.
Like I said, If I wanted to see petty drama and backstabbing, I’ll watch Big Brother and then at least the women are wearing skimpy clothing. This show has no value at all.
