A Rachel Ray Story
A few months ago, I was at the newly opened Sur La Table in New York. I had entered to get a new saute pan in order to complete my first foray into risotto . (Aside: It turned out amazingly. Never be scared to cook risotto, it’s really not hard.)
As I am wont to do, I got sidetracked and ended up picking the Giada cookbook and a Mario Batali cookbook. The saleslady told me that if I brought the book back a few days later, Batali would be there for a signing. I asked if it got crowded and the saleswoman shrugged and responded “It’s nothing compared to when Rachel Ray comes to town.”
I have not had the pleasure of attending a Ms. Ray book signing, and have always wanted to know if she is really that peppy in person. The Rock and Roll Geek Show braved the masses to get a soundclip of the 30-minute-messiah.
