Foodie Obsessed

The Italian Beauty

by foodie on December 5th, 2005

Giada de LaurentiisThis Thanksgiving was the very first where I felt compelled to contribute in some way. Having spent the past few months sickly attached to the Food Network, I was similarly compelled to imitate one of my personal heroes: Giada de Laurentiis.

This year (and maybe every year) the Food Network aired an All-Star Thanksgiving special, where each of the chefs brought a dish to the meal. Ms. Giada brought green beans, so I did to. Mine came out well, though the Parmesan Crisps were more of a crumble. I also made the poor decision of trying to make it last minute as everyone my family has ever known was milling around the kitchen drinking wine and socializing.

Enough about me and more about Giada. G is the beauty of the Food Network and the reason why I hate European women. On her show Everyday Italian, all she does is cook and eat Italian food, and the woman has the body of a supermodel. Apparently, as TVGasm points out, it all goes straight to her enormous head (covered with perfect hair).

Everything on her show is just a little more gorgeous and sensual than it should be.

Giada was, and always will be, my first love on the Food Network. Since I have acieved total immersion, however, my passions a bit more spread out. You never forget the first, though, do you?

Giada is great. She’s a lovely young woman with a sweet personality. She is a great cook with a hard-earned culinary education/background. She was a pastry chef for Wolfgang Puck for many years also. Coming from such an illustrious background, she is amazingly well grounded. I hope the Food Network keeps her - they seem to be turning the Food Network into a truly junk network. It really is a shame.

I can’t believe the spin around Giada, her past was a lot different from what is printed. Her family was destroyed during her parents divorce, when she sent her father to prison, I believe in the late 80’s, you can get an idea at-www.igordelaurentiis.741.com
    or Santa Monica Superior Court
